Michigan State University has announced the results of a long-day lighting (LDL) research project at Wing Acres Dairy in Barry County, MI. Researchers from the school’s Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering Department worked with the Michigan Milk Producers Association (MMPA) to study the implications of LED-based LDL on milk production, and the study indicates an 8% increase over the course of a year.

The LED technology is getting popular every day for commercial as well as residential lighting. Due to its popularity, the 0-10V dimming system is also getting much attention to control and maximize the light output of a LED fixture.
0-10V LED dimmer uses the DC voltage to control the output of the light fixture. This is one of the most straightforward and earliest lighting control systems. 0-10V dimming allows the smooth operation of light and dimming at the light level of 10%, 1%, and 0.1%. The first and simplest electronic lighting control signaling system, low voltage 0-10V dimmers use a low voltage 0-10V DC signal connected to each LED power supply or Fluorescent ballast. At 0 Volts the device will dim to the minimum light level allowed by the dimming driver, and at 10 Volts the device will be operating at 100%. A 0-10V dimmer is considered analog dimming, and all USAI 0-10V dimming options are considered to be “sink” type dimming.
This can control any lighting fixtures that takes 0-10V signal and dim these fixtures. Lowest cut off range is 1% ( results will vary depend on LED drives used ).
